...The Bible revealed (part 6)
The Bible is a powerful book rich in symbolism and metaphor for those willing to examine it. Emmet Fox was an early 20th Century New Thought Christian minister who taught of the symbolism contained within the Bible. Understanding the Bible and its symbolism is crucial to getting the most from the Bible's spiritual teachings.
This series of posts is the result of time spent over a lengthy period of time carefully taking notes on the Bible symbols that Emmet Fox mentions in his many writings. It is my sincere hope that the reader grasps the value of his message.

Pale horse also means physical things or what the Bible calls, "the world" - money, position, material honors. He who lives to eat and drink, the sensualist and the drug addict; he who lives for money or worldly honors; is the rider on the pale horse.

Robe, ring, & shoes (prodigal son)
The robe represents the right attitude of mind - right thinking, right knowing, right action. The right attitude of mind means the constructive attitude, the victorious attitude, the attitude of mind that realizes that behind every appearance, no matter how distressing, there is Truth. The ring symbolized spiritual unity. In the parable the ring symbolizes that we are one with God and we know it. It means that there cannot be lack anywhere, for we live in a continuum of ever present divine abundance, and we bring it into existence by reminding ourselves of our unity with God. Finally, they put shoes on his feet. Feet always represent understanding, and here we have that understanding protected against error and doubt.
